Emil, thanks for the preliminary reading

Slowpoke learned that a remake of Snow White was underway.
And so far, what articles have been written about this pleases on almost all counts. Exactly almost. There are some bad things too.
But first about the good.
The actress playing Snow White is not just a beauty, she has a fabulous, magical appearance. She is the real embodiment of that very fictional romantic Middle Ages, where everything is wonderful and charming.
The actress playing the Evil Queen has a beauty that is not tied to space-time, she is a phenomenon in her own right. This Queen is bright, charismatic, able to attract not "because", but in spite of everything.
There is a confrontation between two very different, but equally bright stars, and this makes the universe of the film interesting and alive. Note: "Confrontation" refers to on-screen characters, not to actresses who have an even relationship of good colleagues and business partners.
Very pleased with the promised changes in the plot. Snow White is no longer a faceless, weak-willed, worthless creature whose sole perspective is to transform from a doormat into a bedding for passing guy. This Snow White will have goals, ambitions, actions and thoughts. She is declared as a full-fledged person with her own life, with self-realization in society. And somewhere between times in the life of the new Snow White there will be a place for Prince Charming. Everything is correct. In real life, where the audience of the film lives, a young healthy woman has love needs, they must be satisfied, but she herself is primarily a person, and not a sexual instinct. And therefore it is her own goals that are important, and not the Prince, who is one today, another tomorrow, the day after tomorrow you want loneliness, the day after-after tomorrow there will be a fourth Prince, a fifth one, and so it endlessly, without a significant impact on a woman’s life. Love is about nothing and no one. But goals and ambitions, be they the desire to become a Good Queen or a downshift traveler, this and only this is life, personality and plot.
There is no information about the Queen, but I would like to hope that she will also be a person, and not an idiot who did not see the world beyond the reflection of her own muzzle in the mirror. If this is a villainess, then her bad deeds as a ruler, destructive ideas, real activity and interaction with the world, and not with a single device, are needed.
Prince… In the old "Snow White" his role is unenviable. He is not only faceless and thoughtless, but also doomed to mine a worthless prize and pass it off as an achievement. It would be better if the poor fellow signed up for a bowling alley competition to compete for an exclusive beer mug — the significance, pleasure and benefit are much greater. And this plot intrigue is more interesting. I would like the Prince to have at least some life of his own in the film.
Now the cons. And they are gnomes. If the filmmakers really denied actors with dwarfism the opportunity to show their talent, it's terrible. The idea that the seven gnomes should be men and women of different races is a very good one. But why can't they be persons with dwarfism? Here one could show the idea that there are too many, too many societies that doom those who differ from the majority to a life of outcasts, and that the main thing in a person is not appearance, but personality and actions.
And this circumstance makes one doubt whether the filmmakers will be able to bring to life the excellent image of Snow White that was promised.
However, let's wait for the result.
